I was always taught never to get a tattoo of someone's name on you, which I'd say is pretty damn good advice. Never know how long you're going to be with someone. Anyone ever got one they regret? I have one tattoo on my ankle, which is a moon and I love it. Can't wait to get my next tattoo.

Do not go to an unprofessional person no matter how great he/she seems! My husbands friend did tattoos and I really wanted to get one, I had seen a few that he did and they looked good. He did one on my husband that looked really great so I thought what the heck why not. So I got a tattoo from him it is a 1/2 sleeve on my arm so it's pretty big, it turned out ok, not really what I wanted but still nice. About 3 months later the red ink started to bump up and it became really itcy. It also happened to my husbands tattoo. It stayed that way for about a year and I had to get some cream to put on it. It eventually went away but all the red ink had also disappeared and the rest of the tattoo was pretty faded. I had to go to a professional shop and have the entire tattoo redone. It looks 100% better now, but I would never go back to get another tattoo or go to anyone who just does it out of their kitchen. If you are seriously considering getting a tattoo, shop around, and make sure that the place you choose is clean and that they use new supplies for each person.

LOL, I did exactly that!! I got a tattoo with someones name on my ankle. I had it covered with a rose, which you can not tell what the names is, unless I point it out. But I wished I wouldn't have never got the first, then I wouldn't have had to get the second to cover. I don't like wearing certain types of dresses. Doesn't look right. Shorts, it's okay.

yes, I made the mistake of letting my brother put a homemade tattoo on my shoulder, it was supposed to be a butterfly and it looked like a moth!! luckily I got it professionally covered up so now it actually looks like a butterfly....I can't wait to get my next "professional" tattoo, my only advice is only trust a professional and be specific about what you want cause it will be there forever....

I have four, and I hate all of them, but I won't get them removed because they tell stories of me and where I have been...besides they attract some people and repel the ones I wouldn't want to be bothered by anyway...

nope, I have a little devil on my shoulder and I love it. Next is an angel on the other shoulder. But not yet, I don't want to listen to the angel.
