Voting is not mandatory in the US. There are no penalties for failing to register besides possibly not being able to vote if you want on election day.

There are no penalties for not registering to vote. The only penalty for not voting is that someone that you might not like will be elected.

It's not mandatory, and there are no penalties whatsoever for not registering to vote, it is a personal choice.

You don't have to register to vote. It is a right you are given as a citizen of the USA when you turn 18. Men, however, of age 18 have to register for selective service.
Although if you don't register to vote you will never know the wonders of being called for jury duty.

Mandatory? Voting isn't mandatory, it's barely encouraged. Registering to vote is not required.

Voting is not manditory. Registration into Selective service is manditory for all males above the age of 18. It is in place so a record is kept in order for them to be accounted for in case of a military draft. As a female it is an option. Neither is manditaed to vote however a male can not vote, obatin government assistance in any form including student grants without registering and can be jailed for failing to do so.
Hope that helps. No one is forced to vote in the United States but males are forced to register on their 18th birthday for selective service which entitles them to vote.
I listed a source below if you would like to check it out.

You don't have to register, it is not mandatory. If you want to have your opinion heard and try to make a difference in this country, then you should register to vote.

There are no penalities for not voting unless the person you didn't want to see running the country wins. Voting has never been mandatory...it's voluntary. But if the man you want doesn't win, don't complain.
