By all means, be smart enough to do that !!
You will still be "the boss" and it wouldn't be off base for you to have occasion to leave a reminder for them in some way of that !! AND it would be good for you to have at least one VERY trusted smarty pants keeping an extra eye out over the crew of Einsteins FOR you--watching out for your best interests here !!!

Yes you can hire people smarter than you but make sure they are do-ers. The last thing you want is for someone to come in and think they can run your business better than you can. It is good to have suggestions from a smart employee. Alot of my employees think they know it all but they generally do not see the big picture which I imagine all business owners do. This is based on my 10 years experience in running my own business.

Yes, you should hire people because you want your company to grow in the present and in the future....therefore hiring smarter people will make your company be the best it can be.

Of course you should. It is a good reflection on your company, and you should learn something. The best advice I rec'd as a small business owner was to surround myself with people smarter and/or more experienced then myself. You are still the boss and have the final sayso. But now you can make smarter decisions.

You need to hire smart people so your business can be the best it's capable of being but you don't want to be intimidated by them.
If they're smarter then you make sure your still really comfortable around them and that they don't talk down to you or make you feel stupid. Don't let them know you think they're smarter then you.

Hiring the best candidates for the job (not necessarily the smartest people; there are other qualities that make people good employees) can be a good choice, especially if they work to help you and the company achieve your/its goals. But if they are strong performers, they may be promoted ahead of you. On the flip side, if you don't hire them, they may take their talent to a rival company and help that company outperform your company.

Yes, smarts isn't everything. As long as you have something they don't - for instance a continuing vision for the future of the company, you should make sure you hire the most capable people you can to work for you. That's what I did, particularly for finances, and thank goodness I did, because I can't balance a budget or keep a ledger for my own life!

Depends on what positions you need to fill. The janitor does not have to be smarter than you (no offense to janitors), but for positions that require high techinical skills, creativity, or business acumen, yes - if at all possible, hire people smarter than yourself.

Why not... it happens all the time. Just because someone has a business and has money to start a business does not automatically make them the smartest... You want the best for your team of people... HIRE SMART PEOPLE!!! You will go farther that way.

Yes, the only thing worst than hiring people that are smarter than you... is intentionally seeking people that you can hold back because you are smarter than they are.
