Is it only between two continents? Doen't it exist here and now? I think we think racism when it comes to our neighbours, when it comes to our friends, our partners, our collegues... In India, its a burden to give birth to girl child because parents need to pay lots of dowry because she is a girl,It doesn't matter that she is working or good looking. The darker she is , the more dowry she has to give. She doen't have much choice.

We treat poor people like untouchables. We treat them like slaves.
What everybody doesn't realize is "what we are is not by choice
but out of chance !". Its ok to make your own choice but don't you think its unfair to redicule someone just because he is not fortunate like you? Think about it, you could have been in their shoes or you could be in their shoes one day.

I believe there is a good reason for discrimination. It is part of normal human evolution to find 'common aspects' to generalize the how something is effects life, such as a danger, food, sex. It is important to all of us to discriminate say on types of food or medicine as to what is good or bad. The problem is that discrimination against a group of people based on race develops easily because our minds look for a 'common danger'. It is all too easy to say that anyone that is not the SAME is a danger or an unknown or a fear. Cultural unknowns can easily be a fear, and there is nothing strange about that concept. Open education of all culture helps people to realize that we are not that different. Some people do not like change. The world is slowly growing smaller, closer, more the same. There is less unknown, less to fear, and less reason for racial discrimination.

The fact that you are thinking these things out means that you will soon be able to answer your own question as you seem to be on the right track. How can we blame people for things they have no power over?
