if i use this for rc car racing is it possible to test positive for meth.

My nephew races rc cars and uses nitromethane as a fuel - while tuning the cars he is right over the exhaust and inhales the fumes - the osha website warns against inhalation - so I know it can be inhaled - thus getting into his system - can that give a positive reading on a urine test? Meth and methane have to have some similar compound or chemical - hence the "meth" - can anyone give me more information or point me in the right direction on how I can find the answer?

No, but he shouldn't be breathing it in in the first place.

The reason for this is that nitric acid, when inhaled, causes a muscular reaction making it impossible to breathe.
Little imagination is required to see the dangers involved with this possible event taking place, and in fact there have been cases of drivers becoming almost unconscious due to the bad fitting of face masks.
So I would be more concerned with being able to breathe.
Methamphetamine is different from nitromethane. The effects of each are different. Methamphetamine is a strong physical and mental stimulant and like amphetamine, it causes increased activity.
Nitromethane is a colorless, oily liquid used in making dyes and resins, in organic synthesis, as a fuel in race car engines, and as a rocket propellant.

It shouldn't make you test positive. The two are not chemically similar. Methane is a gas, not a drug.
