Alexander the Great is known as Alexander the Great because of what he accomplished in his short life. He only lived to 33. In that amount of time, he defeated what was the Persian Empire, invaded India, brought the Greek language (he was the son of the King of Macedon), and his legacy influenced the Roman Empire for decades afterward. You really should read up on him - it's too long to put in an answer here! But he really was great.

Because he that is a good nickname for him since he is an Alexander, a la Alexander the Great of historical fame. Shaun Alexander is not that great though, it is just a nickname.

are you talking about shaun alexnader?????? if so it has nothing to do with how fast he conquered his land....but how he did it, like plowing over everyone in his path, no just with speed but grace...
and yeah i just assumed that its shaun you're talking about because its under fantasy sports...first alexander i thought of...but i am a seahawks fan :)
