We live in a small town called Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. What kind of work do you do? And what kind of a Lifestyle do you want? There is 60 mile long lake about 15 minutes from us..... great for Fishing, Camping, Swimming, Boating, Water Skiing, etc. We have a small Hospital for Emergency, but most Surgery is in either of the Cities. (Las Cruces -75 miles or Albuquerque -150 miles. El Paso, Tx. is about 105 miles from us. If you want to fly, you have to fly out of either El Paso or Albuquerque...sometimes it's cheaper to fly out of one than the other to the same destination. We moved here when my son was in 7th grade....at that time there was very little Gang activity in the area..there is more now. Our town has recently been growing a lot.....due to the possibility of a Race Track and the National Spaceport coming into this county.
(Sierra County) There is now a growing Art Community which has established itself in the last 3 or 4 years here. Taxes are still reasonable, but property is getting much more expensive than it was a few years ago, still, it is less than other places. The Schools are ok....hunting and fishing good and close. We have only one Stop-Light in town currently...2 Grocery stores, 2 Drs. clinics...Could really use another Dentist Practice. We are supposed to get our 1st Wallmart next year sometime.....Gas is a little high....we have Sonic, and McDonalds, and some of the Best Mexican Food in the state@ La Pinata and La Concina...La Concina I think has the best Steak in the world, but we have another steak House called Los Arcos, better than McDonald's is Tor C's Big-A-Burger and A & B Drive In......There is a Theatre
which has been closed but will be open on week-ends next year, as it has recently been bought/ We have a couple of Health Food stores as well.....Most people go to the city to shop, or go on the Net...but we do have a Burke's and Alco, Family Dollar, and Dollar General in town...Could use a good Shoe Store...Have both a Ford and Chevy Dealer.....We have Parks and a Swimming Pool......Our city Government could use some real help....not too happy with the Commissioner's or City Manager right now...Lots of waste of our $$......Still, it's a good town..Lots of Churches and very good people! I worked at one of the 4 Banks for 9 years and currently am a Secretary for Century 21 here in town.....if interested give me a call, and I'll put you thru to a Realtor (505) 894-6611. The berst thing about New Mexico, besides the weather........is that if your kids graduate High School in this state with a "C" average, and go from High School into College, they qualify for a State Lottery Scholarship to attend any of our State Colleges.....they have to maintain a "C" average in college, and if they can do that, they can go for 4 years! Lots of the kids find jobs in town thru High school...and it's the kind of town where people know each other...I knew most of my son's friends parents, and still keep in touch...he is 23 and now lives in Las Cruces, his friends still keep in touch with him, and they and when I see them even now grown up, they always give me a hug. In fact you will see lots of hugs here, friends who haven't seen each other for a while, and during the Holildays. We are still small town.

I was reading an article on this not that long ago...Based on academic performance, low teenage pregnancy rate, and longevity of life Denver Colorado was supposed to be the #1 place to live, and San Diego Ca was #2. I don't remember the rest of them- those are the ones that caught my attention the most!

He should pay up the half of everything that he thinks he can just walk away from. Over and above a personal agreement, a marriage is a legal contract - his wife's debts, contracts, assets, bank accounts, insurance, everything is half his, and HIS is half hers. Until they are legally divorced, they are considered one person, and legally responsible for everything together (that goes for 'sickness and health, rich or poor, etc. - I'm sure you know that part, don't you?) I just read your update, and you need to understand that it doesn't matter if "the account isn't in both of their names". As a married couple they share it all - the assets and the debts - equally. It makes no difference whose name some asset is in, and it won't matter when they finally come to divorce. He has legally contracted (by marrying her) to equal responsibility for all their assets, including their 'matrimonial home' even if he has chosen not to live in it. He needs to finalize his contract with her by divorcing her.

If depends on what you want for a "good lifestye". There are nice places to live all throughout the world. It depends also on your job and commute, family, friends, schools in the area, etc. I would guess that you are looking for a suburban area which can be found outside of almost every major city in the US...

Gaylord, Michigan (Don't let the name intimidate you). I live just north of there and it is a really nice place to live. The town is growing and there are lots of opportunities at the school, class A school. Lots of high end areas to live.
