Look for one that's active and curious. He/she sould be just as interested in checking you out as you are in him/her.

You want one that will be calm when picked up. Some places may let you handle them, others will not, but a person at the pet store should be able to.

The eyes should be clear and open.

Look for any burns, missing toes, sores, wounds, or areas with missing scales.

Look for any obvious parasites (mites), particularly around the eyes and joints. Thesse may appear like a tan powder of a black/brown spot. Look for one that is active with bright clear eyes. if it is young feed him chicken baby food, pin heads, and flightless fruit flies. Get a good viatimin dragon dust etc. and dust food once a week. offer a good mix of greens chopped fine. You will probaly need a spryer to get him to drink you could try to tempt hime to a watter dish by using flavored water, strawberry or someting simular. use papper towles for substrat, never walnut shells.

Look for a beardie at least 6" STL (snout-tail length). It should be active unless basking and readily eat crickets. -Hopefully greens. Please do a lot of research on these sites first and be sure and have everything set up with the right temperatures before you bring it home! PLEASE email me with questions!
