I'm contemplating going to college for a BA or MA in Psychology, and was wondering how applicable the degree would be for use in a criminal justice career. I'm interested in becoming a police officer, but maybe moving up someday to becoming a profiler or federal officer of some sort.

I think the best thing for you to do is to talk to a careers counselor at a GOOD CJ University and get info from them. Also, try and talk to someone in an FBI field office and get the name of someone who can give you advice and possibly mentor you. CJ degrees are great to become a Police Officer but you may need to bring something else to the table for profiler etc. find out what is needed first, or what you really want and do that. Good Luck

what about a degree in Criminal Justice? It would be more applicable. Also a bachelors degree is required to get a master's degree.

You could become a criminal psychologist. It is what my nephew did. He now works for the department of corrections (prison system) in California and he earns a very healthy living.

I also have a diploma in Psych, while i grow to be taking my training human beings in my training have been pursuing careers in criminal justice and in accordance to them this diploma grow to be ideal

go for criminal justice. you'll have to take psych classes for the degree. criminal psychology is a kickass class, i highly recomend it!

well you will be dealing with the public and human behavior at its worst. i would get the psych degree
