Alesse-28 or its generic Aviane.
I have been on it the past seven years and it has been the best one I have been on (I have used a few brands and strengths over the past 14 years I have been on the Pill) with the least side effects.
No mood swings, no fat weight gain. I only put on water weight during my period, but it goes away when it's done.
Here are the pros and cons I experienced:
Pros: Lighter and regular periods, less cramps, no food cravings for me, protection from certain forms of cancer, and, of course, protection from pregnancy if you have sex.
Cons: Temporary: First 6 months may have nausea. First 4 months periods may be heavier than usual. These eventually lighten. It's from your body adjusting to the pill. Nausea can be avoided by taking this with milk. Temporary water weight gain during periods.

RE:
The best pill with least or no side effects?
I'm looking for a good contraceptive pill I can get on. Can I have some suggestions? (One that doesn't give you any mood swings and weight gain as side effects from it.) I will also be talking to my doctor about it...but they don't always come up with the best solution. Experience...

I'd also recommend Yasmin. No mood swings, regular periods, no weight gain, clear skin, and less cramps during period. And if you miss it, you have a 12-hour time range to take it before you risk ineffectiveness. So if you usually take it mornings, you don't have to get up on weekends just to take the pill within the recommended time ranger - you can sleep in and take it anytime during the 12 hours. I haven't really experienced any negative side effects except occasional light bleeding between periods, but that's it.

i have been on a bunch of bc and i have found that yasmin was the best.. totally love being on it.. there is no weight gain other than maybe a little just before my period.. it cleared up any acne that i had... haven't had a mood swing since i was put on it and the periods are from 3-5 days mine usually run about 4 days.. i would highly recommend yasmin to anyone if yasmin is out of ur price range try loestrin works exactly the same way and is a bit cheaper.. my doc said loestrin is a generic form of yasmin so either or is good... good luck in finding something u like

I know they all claim to do this or that or have fewer side effects but every woman reacts different to birth control. You just have to test them out and see. I have tried just about every stinking b.c there is and I felt the way you described on all of them. I'm now going with condoms and foam or gel. No side effects and no daily pill. =)

I used Alesse and Ortho TriCylen and loved them both! I started with the Alesse because that was the BC of choice for my Doctor. When I swapped DR's she chose to swap my meds and it worked just as well!
I've never had acne in my life, so I don't know how it would work on that. I never found where either really gave me mood swings! Helped amazing amounts with cramps! ! ! ! ! ! When I had to quit taking BC that was the biggest downfall, CRAMPS were back! Overall, I would recommend either of them!
