Why on Ministers - don't know.

I can say, however, that I do not support it going to poor people (in general). In my life, I have come across too many people who are poor at their own fault and then get to depend on my tax dollars while I have to work to make a living. That is crap. I had to grow up in foster care because my mom never chose to get a job and instead, wanted to manipulate the system to get money - even if that meant having me in group home environments.

I am open to giving a helping hand, but not providing depenency.

To fix the problem with poor people today, we must go to the root of the problem - poor people having children who become poor peiople. Sex has become so much more recreational than planned.

There must be fine balance between all spendings. Your "spending it on poor ppl" seems too idealistic for the good of any nation.

If you do not pay ministers enough, no one good enough will want to be a minister.

Hypothetically, if your country has cash reserves, does it justify spending every single cent to help poor people?

Our elders in the congregation are not paid anything. They serve freely, hold secular jobs to support their families, and go on fulfilling their public ministry by preaching using their own resources. The same goes for all members of the congregation. Our kingdom halls are erected with labor provided by congregation members, supplies provided by the brothers and sisters who will be using the halls, and if supplies are not sufficient, money borrowed from other congregations or Society headquarters which are then promptly repaid so that the money could be used for other productive endeavors. Whenever an emergency or calamity strikes, the whole body made up of different congregations pitch in in order to alleviate the suffering of the affected brethren. This in observance of Jesus' admonition to His disciples, "By this people will know that you are my disciples if you have LOVE amongst yourselves."
Unlike so called ministers and other religious leaders who seemingly doesn't care about the plight of the poor if there is nothing in it for themselves. Try watching so called Men of God on Sunday television programs and see if you can spot the humongous rocks on the rings worn by the ministers while they perform their miraculous healing sessions. And is that a Rolex or a Gucci watch he is wearing? And how much do you think is that diamond studded cuff links worth? And inspite of the fact that we do our best to live up to the true CHRISTIAN standard as set up by our Lord and King JESUS CHRIST, we are the most abused religious group around, made the center of off color jokes, called a cult and other unflattering remarks, Doors slammed at our faces and verbally abused when all we are trying to do is to wake people up to the good news of the kingdom of god, offer free bible studies, and open people's eyes to the wonderful prospect of life in a paradise earth that Jehovah God is offering to everyone...FOR FREE..

I agree with you. Depending on what religion you are...In Los Angeles a new huge and beautiful Catholic church was built for millions of dollars, yet, the poverty level is huge. It seems to me that money could be better used somewhere else.
I however, attend a small congregation (not catholic) and the preacher/minister is not paid a lot. Ministers should love what they do...but they do need to be compensated. There should be a limit.

That is not at all true cause they have special funding in the churches to help the needy and not the greedy. I feel like when the church do help someone in or outside of the church and that person becomes financially or otherwise blessed, they too should blessed the church back and help someone else as well. Now remember that giving is one the greatest blessing cause it creates wonderful blessing for us.
