i think it may be due to inertia

One reason could be inner ear fluid. When you change from horizontal to vertical position, the fluid moves around, causing a feeling of unbalance or dizziness. A few people who are deaf have a loss of inner ear fluid, so they do not get dizzy (or not as easily), but will experience serious balance problems in the dark, for example, or with eyes closed.

This is a drop in blood pressure. Usually nothing to worry about and happens if you've been sitting for a long time. If it persists you should see your physician.

Has to do with the blood flow to the brain being impeded by gravity.
