There was a 70's band called the JSD Band. Try finding their music. Also, Mike Oldfield has a celtic feel to alot of his music.
Try some east coast Canadian music like Great Big Sea and the Rankins, The Trews and The Barra MacNeils.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for exactly but I like Gary Moore's Over The Hills And Far Away as well as Big Country's In A Big Country.

Slade pops into my mind. Slade had bagpipes in one of their songs maybe more. Their big hits were Run, Run Away and My Oh My.
