the flags are flown at half mast for all former presidents for one month from the date of their passing. President Ford died on December 26, so flags will be down until January 25th. see article attached from local newspaper with the proper etiquette regarding flags.

well they should be up by now but when a president dies they go half mast for a week of mourning, and then at other occasions whenever the white house flag goes half mast or death in the city ect ect.

It is the rule of honor for a President's passing
to fly the nation's flag at half-staff for a full 30 days !!

And, anyone elected to the office of the Presidency is considered a President until their passing !!

Because Gerald Ford died - all Federal buildings, and anyone else who is in mourning will have flags at half for 30 days from ther date he died - about another 2 weeks.

In the normal world when an ex pres dies the flags are at half staff for 6 days. George Bush with his sagging polls did this big teary eyed grand stand and through Presidential Proclamation made it 30 days.
