Usually, there are only four to six tablespoonfuls of blood in the whole flow. This is a small amount. The rest is bits of the unused lining and other fluids. By the time your period ends, the flow will have amounted to between half a cup and a full cup of liquid. Yeah, hey gals don't we just love this time of the month!!

It depends. I have read the article that researchers have actually tried to figure out how much blood women lose with their period. They collected volunteers' pads and found out that the women lose their blood from 50g to 200g on an average.

You don't really "lose" any blood, its almost like waste. Its the blood that wasnt used when the time was right to make a baby. When it isnt used its shed out through your vagina... sometimes its a darker colour because your shedding your uterous lining... and how much you bleed depends on the woman.

You don't lose any blood during your period. What your body is getting rid of is the lining of uterus which is called the menses; which coats the uterus to prepare you for implantation of a fertelized egg.
How much menstrual flow is there during your period?
It is about 6-12 oz. for young girls...then it increases after having given birth, which enlarges the uterus.

I talked with a midwife nurse and she said typically you will lose 2 table spoons of blood. Now I was very unsure of her response because it really seems that it is more than that. But I guess she would know better than me since she studied it.

Depends, but if you are feeling lightheaded or tired try taking an iron supplement to account for the iron your losing due to your period.

It depends. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot! Depends on the person! Not everyone has the same flow!
