I don't knot if density is anyway related to velocity.But your question says that (density*velocity)is directly propotional to velocity.

IF I think practically

if any medium is having very high density and any body gets in it ,its velocity will slow down

hence
velocity is inversily proprtional to density

you can take it from einestien relation between mass and velocity we say mass increases with velocity, so change mass in terms of volume and density since vol. will remain cont. so only density changes thus density increases with velocity
