I'm looking for the USA equivalent to London in the UK. Lots of Australian accountants work in London because of the ease of getting work and the high salary. I’d like to find a USA city with similar benefits as London.

Helena, Montana.
Is huge, and full of opportunities for foreigners...
If not, try the Panhandle area, in Oklahoma...

NYC. There are many accounting jobs across the Hudson in northern and central jersey as well. Los Angeles is probably good too. All high salary areas with a wealth of public transportation but cost of living is also high.

For an accountancy work, you should be based in big cities in order to make money and earn a living. However, lots of successful accoutants too either set-up their offices in the suburb areas ( economical wise) and entertain or get clients around the nation. You should come here and live here so you would know.

I would either go with San Francisco California or Chicago Illinois. The reason for this is that neither one is as intimidating as New York City. They are also cleaner then L.A and New York City.
