My friends and I are going to Singapore for a week in Feb and we wanted to know if it is possible to get a side trip to Malaysia from there. What part of Malaysia can we go to for a daytrip and how do we get there? Also, how long is the travel time? I heard you can go to Johor bahru by bus but I'm not sure of the cost and the travel time.

Hi, assuming you leaves for Malaysia early and wants to get back to your Singapore hotel by night, it will be most practical to settle for Johor Bahru.

Johor is popular with Singaporeans for its cheaper food and daily produces (not so much for imported goods like fashion and electronics, cheaper in S'pore). To get to Johor by public transport, takes a MRT train to Kranji Station. Follow signs from there to the bus stop for buses into Johor.

Alternatively, take a cab from your hotel to Woodlands Checkpoint. (cab will not be able to enter Malaysia though)

If you have at least 2D1N to share, then malacca (approx. 3 hrs by coach), capital Kuala Lumpur (5 hrs) and Genting Highlands (6hrs) are within your reach.

It truly relies upon the place in Malaysia you're, on account that Malaysia is the huge u . s . a ., no longer Singapore. in case you're no longer in Johor Bahru, yet a greater trouble-free vacationer section including Kuala Lumpur or between the islands(Tioman, Langkawi, Penang and so on) you likely can forget approximately that time out. in spite of everything, an afternoon is easily adequate to work out the attractions of SIngapore. in spite of everything, your question will make (greater) experience in case you asked which part of Malaysia you are able to go on a daytrip on from Singapore.

You can get to JB very easily from SG. There are also many ways to get there:

1. Go to Khatib MRT station & hop on to CW1 or 2.

2. Go to Bugis [behind the wholesale dry goods area] and take the Johor Express at $2.40 per adult.

All these busses bring you to the JB checkpoint in about 30-45min. After that you are free to explore. JB doesn't have much in the town besides shopping, if you are willing to travel even more, head down to the Kota Tinggi Waterfalls. =)

the nearest place to go is in Johor bharu..
its a capital of a south state of malaysia.

more towards shopping areas. & cheap stuff.
nothing much to do there unless u want to feel the ambian of malaysia.

i recommend u to go to Danga Bay..

if you have time go to Melaka Town. Its an ancient city of malaysia. this is a worthy visit to malaysia but i think u need at least 2 days to cater all melaka town.
