People with IQ's high enough to be considered "genius" can have a range of personalities.

I have heard that actress, Sharon Stone, has a very high IQ. I believe Gina Davis does as well. Many U.S presidents have had very high IQ's. How introverted can any actor or politician be?

The organization, Mensa, has people from all walks of life.

As with any level of intelligence, people with high intelligence may or may not be well rounded or emotionally well adjusted. Some people with very high intelligence are carried away with themselves or with the image of the "oddball genius" and play that up. Also, such people may think that because they are different and because they have high IQ's that must be how all highly intelligent people are, but that isnt the case.

People who are "creative geniuses" (with the part of that brain that is very creative being very well developed and "running the show" may be "different", but that is only one type of genius.

People of very high IQ's aren't necessarily people who "must live a different life". It is more that they do perceive the world differently. They are able to see "the big picture" or future consequences better than someone with a lower level of intelligence. They are able to remember much more of the past and information that have picked up along the way.

Because many people of very high intelligence are not motivated in school they may be the people who just got average grades, may or may not have finished college, and have "regular" jobs.

People who have very high intelligence may see a larger picture and be able to reason out solutions to problems more easily, but sometimes the right type of intelligence (human understanding) can help that person in his/her personal life as well (so someone who is very intelligent may also be very skilled when dealing with other people).

Although scales showing IQ's may call people with IQ's over 140/150 (depending on the scale) "genius", there is a very big difference between people with IQ's between 140 and 160 and those with IQ's 170 and over. That's something to bear in mind as well.

If you want to understand people with high IQ's better you should be careful to read information prepared by a legitimate source, such as the American Psychological Association.

Finally, it is a myth that a very high IQ cannot possibly be associated with an equally high amount of "common sense". This myth has been accepted because some people with very high IQ's have interest in math but may not have the part of the brain associated with common sense as well developed as it should be. There are, however, people with high IQ's and little interest in pursuing math or science careers (although they are capable of succeeding in such a career if they wanted to) who have a more well-rounded type of intelligence and have more common sense than the average person does.

Introvert Genius

They say there is a thin line between genius and insanity. I think the reason why genius people are introverted is because they think in their head and they have this inner voice. They pay more attention to that than other people. Sometimes, they don't socialize at all. To be a genius is to live a difficult life. They are constantly thinking and talking in their mind. It's like that movie "A Beautiful Life" with Russell Crowe. He might have been schizophrenic but the truth is, he was a genius and he overcame his disorder. It's based on a true story and as far as I know, John Forbes Nashe Jr. still teaches.

Absolutely not, a friend of mine was a genius, and he was an extrovert. Totally funny and outgoing.

I worked with the man for 6 years, he was a mensa member, a chess grand champion, there was nothing he could not learn and faster then anyone I knew.

His kids were the same way, daughter 8 years old, doing high school work, spoke 3 languages fluently and said calculus was fun. His 3 year old son, was reading at an 8th grade level and had a better vocabulary then I did.

So many geniuses cannot deal with regular people or have a social life. They do not have the basic common sense it takes to get along with others. They think the written rules and guidelines should be the only way instead of figuring in each person's personal past experiences. There are many geniuses blessed with common sense as well. Many geniuses cannot handle college after making perfect scores on their entrance exams!I am so happy that I am not genius!HA! Above average with plenty of horse sense is a great place to be!

Living a different life has little to do with being an introvert.

Introverts simply tend to spend more time thinking, not talking, and usually are content to think in silence and don't crave social interaction 95% of the time.

As far as introverts being more likely geniuses? Yay for me!

Yes. That's the main reason why they are genius. Most of their time is spent on studying or discovering new things that they don't have time anymore to interact with other people.

That is not true cause genius can be found in all types of life style and it does not define education alone.

Hahaha you know why?? It's because most of society is composed of absolute morons.

As a genius once said --
"Only two things are infinite: the Universe, and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Most writers are introverts, and those who say they are not, are too busy denying to be able to write effectively.
