Right click on start menu, select properties

1/2 way down the page, select 'customize'

On that page, select the 'Advanced' tab

Near the bottom of the window, select 'clear list'

You can also check the box (or uncheck) so it doesn't store the list (visibly)

Good luck.

Go to your start button then to Control Panel...look for the task bar start menu icon. Open that and click on Start Menu. Once there you have to click on customize the start menu. Then click advanced. Once there at the very bottom you will see Recent Document and the "clear list" button.....and there you go.

Right-click on any empty space in your taskbar (where the program titles usually show up) and select Properties. Click on the Start Menu tab, then click on the Customize button. Click on the Advanced tab, then click on the Clear List button at the bottom. That's it! You can also completely turn off the recent document list in this box.

Right click task bar, click start menu tab, start menu customize, advanced tab, and click clear list on the bottom where it says recent documents.

Complicated ain't it? They hide everything nowadays. Good luck finding it/remembering where it is.
