When I drove all the time, I had a 1988 Chevy Beretta. It got awesome gas mileage though I can't provide the numbers. The newer cars that I drove after that (a Buick Skylark and a Nissan Altima) were not as good mileage wise.

*ok, I just figured it out. Maybe the Beretta didn't get 'awesome' gas mileage but it was about 25-32 mpg when it was about 10+ years old. Not bad for a car that was built pretty solid.

I drive a 2004 Honda VTiS Jazz/Fit, with CVT transmission, it gives me very good gas mileage, and also has a "small" amount of punch, due to the V-tec 1.5 litre engine.
