Like: the ~ in "Español" or the special c in "Français". Sometimes I find that it would appear fine for some minutes, but once I refresh the page, the words often change to "Espa?nol" or "Fran?ais" like it's unrecognizable.
This is especially true for MySpace.com.

You can make your web page display those special characters if you specify the encoding in the header (i.e., between and ). For standard PC/Windows type text, the statement looks like:

Other values of charset can be used to encode special character sets, for other languages than English, for example.

Alternatively, you can use HTML character codes beginning with "&", for example, &n tilde; (without the space) for ñ. See a list here: http://www.web-source.net/symbols.htm

it's because you are using Microsoft Windoze. This sub-standard operating system is incapable of being international unless you download a font pack.

You could download the thing of windows update or you could use Linux, of which, most distributions give you international character support.

you may need to code the character specifically ... if you can edit the html for the page. e.g. the code for ñ is [ampersand]ntilde;
