There will be an expiration date on it, but don't worry about it. Studies have shown that most medicine is good years and years past that date. (Exceptions are nitroglycerin and liquid meds).
Read this article about how we are throwing away good medicine:

In the above article, it was shown that Cipro (antibiotic) was good 13 years after expiration date.

As a pharmacist, I'm frequently asked this question. The article listed by Alabama Girl is one of the best I've seen written by a member of the media.

When prescriptions are dispensed by a pharmacy, most states require that a one year expiration date be placed on the label. This date has little to do with the actual expiration date of the product. One would need to see the original stock bottle to see the actual expiration date.

However, most prescriptions for Wellbutrin SR (or the generic) are dispensed in an original dispensing bottle provided by the manufacturer. You may be able to peel the label to see the actual date.

Studies have indeed shown that most drugs in tablet or capsule form (not all) are stable for years. However, it all depends on where you store the meds. Purses, glove compartments and even the bathroom medicine cabinet are less than ideal. Drugs can lose their potency in hot, damp environments. Store them at room temperature in a dark, dry place.

Some antibiotics, nitroglycerin and liquid meds deteriorate quickly and should be discarded according to the date listed on the Rx botttle.

I have listed another article below.

Be well.

wellbutrin likely will last a while after the expiration date on the bottle. If it has been kept in s normal environment with out excessive heat or humudity it should be fine for many months after exp date.

Always look at the expiration date on any medicine. They are manufactured and or prescribed on differant dates and therefore they have differant shelf or expiration dates.

Read the expiration date on the prescription bottle. It should tell you on there.

It is better to ask a Pharmacist to be safe.
