Ectopic or tubal pregnancy can be difficult to tell or diagnose because symptoms often mirror those of a normal early pregnancy. These can include missed periods, breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, or frequent urination.

Pain is usually the first red flag. You might feel pain in your pelvis, abdomen, or, in extreme cases, even your shoulder or neck (if blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy builds up and irritates certain nerves). Most women describe the pain as sharp and stabbing. It may concentrate on one side of the pelvis, and it may come and go or vary in intensity.

Any of the following additional symptoms can suggest an ectopic pregnancy:
1. Vaginal spotting or bleeding
2. Dizziness or fainting (caused by blood loss)
3. Low blood pressure (also caused by blood loss)
4. Lower back pain

I know someone who had an ectopic pregnancy. Her signs were pains on one side and then some bleeding. She went to the doctors because she thought she was having a miscarrage. They took blood and saw that he levels were dropping and told her she was miscarrying. A few days later the bleeding didnt get heavier so she went back they did more tests and an ultrasound they saw that the baby was implanted in one of her tubes. She HAD to terminate the pregnancy because her and the baby would die if the pregnancy wasnt terminated.

So the only way you will know is if you go to the doctors and tell them what has been going on and that you are concerned that it could be an ectopic pregnancy.

If it is a tubal pregnancy, I've heard that you have a lot of pain. I would check with your doctor!!

When i had pain down one side i was sent to have ultrasound to see if was ectopic (as that is a sign) , It turned out it was not, but i had miscarried. (was also told pain in side had nothing to do with miscarriage) , Any pain your un sure off get checked out. Its better to be safe and put your mind at rest, doctors etc expect it from you.

Good Luck

If you've skipped a period & had sex, then yes, this could be a tubal pregnancy. I'd suggest taking a home pregnancy test asap, seeing a physician asap also. Good luck.......

I believe they(doctors) will check with a sonogram to see if implantation has occurred in the correct place.

Pain and or bleeding is a symptom.
