Because Malaysia is an industrial country, you can find a number of products at a very good price. You could also find products from China, perhaps a bit more expensive, but at least you won't be disappointed with the quality.
I'm interested in doing business with Malaysia too, but I'm not there yet. I'll be there in about a month. I'll let you know what I find out.

Malaysia is a prosper & stabil country compared to Thailand, Philipines, & Indonesia.
Its good for the business prospect.
Compare to Singapore, market is quite limited & expensive.

there are plenty of advantages of doing business in Malaysia. and foreign investment plays an important role in this country economics too. The government have plenty of package and incentive to attract foreign investor to this country.
There are less political threat, natural disaster.not like neighbouring country Indonesia,thailand and Philipines which is either have earthquake,terrorist and instability of political scene. as for singapore, the workforce is costly and space is so limited.
Many Major IT giant have their production plant here too.

Malaysia is certainly the ideal of business investment country. Btw, what kind of business you intend to do in Malaysia? If you are selling your roti canai or nasi lemak, am sure is no no here!

first of all what kind of business u plan to do? bcos not all business hv a good market in malaysia, if u specify one.. it maybe easier and the chances is wider for any businessman in malaysia to look in. ok then good luck.
