Ever since they got that new head coach, the St. Louis Blues (the Royals of hockey) have all the sudden put the best team in hockey to shame (Anaheim) and are on a seven game unbeaten streak, one game under five hundred, and eight points out of a playoff spot!! I have lived in St. Louis my whole life and have never, ever sat and watched a hockey game voluntarily. Until tonight. They're playing with so much heart and ferocity, it's hard to count them out. It's the spirit and magic of St. Louis. The Cardinals did it, now it's the Blues turn. How far do ya'll think they'll make it?

I won't try to make any predictions, but one thing we've found out over the last couple of years is that the cup is any teams. Look at the way Edmonton went from just squeaking into the playoffs to fighting for the cup. I'm no blues fan, but if they play with their hearts as you say, then I wish your team the best of luck, because that's who should win the cup, not thoughtlessly bought talent, which is the 'heart' of my own revered team.

Seeing how they've gained 3 positions in the overall standings in a little over a month, and closing to within 8 points of 8th place, it's a little scary to know where they'll be in the time coming. It's hard to see them not make the playoffs right now because they are playing some exciting and well-played hockey. I think they will make it. However, even if they don't, at least they've given their fans something to cheer about again since before the lock-out.
