To be honest, the simplest reason why they won't attack Iran is because they would lose miserably in the conventional part of the war. Iran is mountanous, has many sam-sites hidden in their mountains. Iran has the fastest torpedo in the world etc... I have to go, I will finish this answer at a later time if I am up to it.

No. Back during the Shah of Iran's time (early 70's), there was a treaty made between Russia, Iran, and U.S. If one country attacks another, the third country must back up the country that was attacked. Also, during the Therefore, U.S. must find another way to attack Iran (a.k.a., Israel).

1) Yes he has the nerve. He has at least as much political courage as any leader we have had in my lifetime.
2) Either we attack Iran with convectional weapons or Israel will have no choice but to attack with nukes. which option do you think is less bad?

Yes, i agree with this, other countries should deal with thier own problems. And, I may be blunt, but who gives a crap about Iran and baghdad or whatever countries we are "trying to help get diplomatic" or whatever. They should deal with thier own problems. Enough countries already hate america. And who the hell cares what happens, if you haven't forgotten the U.S is the strongest country in the world, but we aren't at the moment because all our troops are in the middle east. What would happen if the middle easterns grew brains and actually came over HERE?

I have no doubt that he does, and will do so if he thinks it necessary. He is trying to protect the Constitution, as he has sworn to do, and although one may question his judgment, his determination is clear. Consider his efforts to continue to prosecute the war in Iraq, notwithstanding widespread oppposition.
