So it seems. I'm dealing with it.
I've resigned my profession of 26 years, and I'm taking a year to discover what I actually would enjoy doing. Starting by moving to a different part of the country.
No, I don't know exactly how I'm going to support myself, but my previous well-paid post was setting me up for a breakdown or a heart attack: little future there either.
So, let's try something else. As Kipling had it.

(though I'm not as heroic as his ex-soldier)

I presume your estimate of midlife is NOT the 50s! Many have midlife crisis at 25 as they are unlikely to live beyond 50 what with their life style.
No. No. No. Think calmly and you will find that the crises , that were already there , were handled reasonably well by you so far . But suddenly you are no longer able to cope up with those same crises. Relationship, Money, Health...... what else can these be? We all have it . donot relate to midlife and you will solve it.

HELP, I,M GAINING WEIGHT LIKE CRAZY. I DRINK A LOT OF WATER AND STILL GAIN. I CANNOT DANCE ANYMORE LIKE I USED TO, IF I DO STAMP MY FEET TO THE RHYTHM THEY ACHE THE NEXT DAY. I WANT TO BUY A CORVETTE AND SMOKE THE TIRES OFF WHIPPING DONUTS ON BARE TARVY.

yes i think i am having it too but not sure.... i have lately been dissatisfied with certain things and wanted to bring about a big change in my life but still feel like i am stuck...
