there is a authenticity to it, it feels like it's a real person in a real relationship, rather then the polished crap that is usually called "love songs"

My favorite love song is "Iris" by the GooGoo Dolls.
I like it because the lyrics are meaningful but don't come off as mushy.
"And I don't want the world to see me/Cause I don't think they'd understand/When everything's made to be broken/I just want you to know who I am."
The runners-up are "Wild Horses" by the Sundays and "With or Without You" by U2.
I like love songs that are a little "real". Like, yea nothing is perfect but I love you for you.

"Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton...It is about his love for his son that died at seven years of age from falling out of a window....Well, it's been one of my favorites since I've been a little girl. It epitomizes just how painful a loss can be, and when will the loss go away; never.
