You are looking for the 80's group Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Try out "Bad Reputation" and "I Hate Myself for Lovin' You" as well. You'll like 'em. :) Edit: I am assuming that is the version you heard. Midnight is correct, The Arrows first recorded it, but Joan Jett and The Blackhearts covered it, making it a smash hit. Edit2: And yes, it is also possible you heard the Britney Spears version. That got some attention.
