My wife and I have been married 1year now and she currently is attending graduate school full time and doesn't work. My problem is that she LOVES to spend my money! Recently shes been spending $1000 per month on personal items. This absolutely has to stop considering my net (after tax) earning is $4300 per month. I told her about it and mentioned a monthly allowance to curb her spending but she gets mad at me! What should I do?

You're screwed. You should have married a less attractive woman.

It's always tough when your newlyweds and trying to budget. I'm not going to lye to you, but she's going to put you in the pits if she don't quit! You have to be tough and firm with her. Tell her to buy things she needs and not what she wants! Tell her, if she wants to spend all this money on personal **** then she need to get a job and try helping out. You need to stand your ground and tell her money don't grow on tree! Maybe when you guys have kids, this will be alot clearer to her? Good luck!

honest question. What i tried to get my spouse to do is take all of our charge playing cards and placed them in a lock container and placed 2 locks on it and each and every of keep a key. That way, lets ought to sit and honestly communicate about a mastercard purchase earlier it would want to happen. She did not comply with it and we are in economic difficulty via debt. Damnit.

See a CFP/financial planner that automatically takes money out of your account and puts it in different investments. She can't spend what she does not have. That is what we did!! Get rid of credit cards if you can.

Let her know that she's taking money from your marriage and it's causing you not to trust her.

When there's no trust for any reason....there's no relationship.

If she can't control herself strongly suggest she get some therapy.
