I've been a Saints fan all my life, and, before the draft, I really only expected about 7 wins this year. I knew they were much better that the 3-13 that they went last year, but all odds were against them. Deuce got hurt, Aaron forgot how to throw the ball, Haslett's cajones were long gone, not to mention Hurricane Katrina and no home games.
When we picked up Drew Brees (before knowing that we'd be able to get Reggie Bush) and forewent Matt Leinhart with the second pick of the draft I was even less sure how well they'd do.
Then Houston drafted Mario Williams and my head exploded. We got Reggie, and I thought to myself this could be a 9-7 team with a shot at the wild card. I didn't think there was any way they'd win the division with Carolina and Atlanta out there.
Whew! What a ride it's been!

I also thought the additions of Brees and Bush would improve the Saints, as would the fact that they would again play at home. But I did not expect them to even be a playoff team, much less do what they have done.

I expected a 5-11 season especially since going in the NFC South looked like a strong division. The Panthers were dubbed Superbowl contenders with the Falcons and Bucs looking like strong teams. I'm glad that I was wrong as they have been a great story this year.

I also predicted they would go either 8-8 or 7-9. But they do play in the NFC which isn't as tough of a conference so it shouldn't be much of a surprise if any last place team made a big jump.

This may sound crazy, but I knew that there was a change in the air when I saw the new Saints commercials before the season began. After the major housecleaning that went on in this club, I just KNEW it was going to be a breakthrough year...but not this good!

Thought they would win 9 or 10 games, but definitely not make it to the NFC Championship game. The Jets are the real surprise. I didn't think they would win a game.

I was a believer at the beginning of the season and I am still a beliver.
I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THEY WOULD DO BETTER in the win column.
I bet Dante Stallworth now wishes that he had believed and stayed with the team.

thought they were going to dominate. but they lost a good chunk of games, its the nfc though so they can get away with that till the superbowl, the afc team will win by more then 10 points this superbowl.

i agree with you i thought they would at least do decent(7-9,8-8), but they actually are playing very good, despite playing in a weaker conference. i thought colston would be ok, but i figured that he would try to make to many plays and cause mistakes, but he has played very well and mature for being so young. and their o-line looks good, hell i wish they were blocking for my beloved chiefs
