If we took all the rich people and made them poor/miserable and took all poor people and made them happy and rich for a day.

Everyone who is in the middle will stay in the middle.

Yes, everyone has their own challenges, wouldnt you want to be given a break once a while? And rich are rich, yes they have a right, but being rich, I think is not nice to the rest of the world, if you give to the poor, you got less money so you're not rich, and you're only rich when you earn more money than you can spend. Yes Bill Gates is rich and he is doing a lot, but so is Paris Hilton, see my difference.

I'm not sure if that would make the world a better place. I'd like to hope so & I think it would be a cool experiment. I think tho, as long as the rich folk knew they were gonna be rich again, I really don't think they'd learn the lesson. Unfortunately, rich folks are THE most unhappy saps on the planet anyway. You (I hope) treasure love, family, friends, honor, etc...all the things that don't cost a dime. Rich folk, at least those that have been rich since day 1, more often than not possess a whole lot less understanding of these things and have a hard time putting value...real value, real worth...on the things that 90% of the world that knows it needs...on things that aren't plastic. How 'bout this: What if everything was free. No money. No competiion. We all just made what we make & gave it feely to eveyone else...simply 'cause we could. No profit, no gain except the happy feeling of giving...and no loss. Value is based upon the smile on the face of the reciever. I make beans, you need gas...I feed you and you help my hot air baloon reach new heights. We're happier than we were 15 minutes ago.

Rich don't mean chet..at least not money rich. Rich means full. Full of sweet, tasty, lovable, beautiful, interesting, incredible, cool, crunchy ideas, memories, experiences,...and whatever else makes you whole. That's rich.

No It wouldn't make the world a better place. The rich would, as you said, be miserable, probably plotting ways to get their money back including murdering the poor who now have their money. The poor would not likely know how to manage their money and would eventually loss all of it, or get murdered by the rich folks who were now poor. Thus the experiment would increase the number of disgruntled denizens consequently making the world that much worse.

Your chances of making a better world would be much better reforming people's character, beliefs, mores, society, skills, and intelligence.

I hope you wont consider my comment a letdown. You are in the right direction, keep thinking...one of those days you'll come upon a brilliant idea...which you won't get if you stop your exercising a fertile mind.

The answer isn't in money, that's only a part of what you see as the problem. It's not the problem of the world, your idea wouldn't make the world a better place to live it would merely change the lives of some people, and does that really make it better.
I see the way to make the world better would be to get rid of all religions, that's where all the wars begin.

No. The now suddenly rich people would use their new found power and money to wipe out the new poor class or former rich people. Things are really the way they are supposed to be.

Hopefully not. Wealth is a state of mind. For many it comes down to "things". What things do I have? For others it is having a healthy body or a beautiful family or wonderful talents/abilities that they share with the world. So, it's my hope that just having more(or less) money for a week isn't enough to change a person, let alone the entire world.

Wouldn't work. People don't appreciate what they don't work for. It's easy come, easy go. They only way is to elevate the poor by redistributing a portion of the wealth of the rich to the poor and make the poor work for it. Then they appreciate what they get.

we may still not have a better place, rich people may become more greedy after experiencing poverty because they don't want to experience that again. And poor people may become more aggressive out of frustration of not being able to become rich again. About what will do a better place I think one option is to promote State incentives to exchange people permanently or temporary, in order to people to meet and understand better others. However this may have a moral/economic/political problematic in its own

Stupid idea. It assumes that the rich people have only always been rich, and that the poor people have always been poor. It also sounds a bit like communism. I don't begrudge "rich" people anything. It's a free country ... anyone is free to figure out how to make money for themselves if they want to be "rich".

I think it would help the rich unempathetic people be more understanding and then maybe they would help the poor more. It would help them appreciate what they have a little more. I think it would depress the hell out of the poor when they went back.

Hello It nice to answer this question as it sounds as if you want to be god for a week.!!!
Don't you feel that this exactly what is happening in the life, the only difference is that you want it to be within a week where as this takes at least two life time in case of the almighty.
So I don't feel it will make any change???
