My truthful opinion as a christian...not one of the ABOVE. The bible grow to be prepare by skill of a council many some years in the past, this council desperate what books could go in and which of them does no longer! I say study what ever one you are able to yet understand that there is greater there you do no longer understand approximately... the two way it extremely is not our fault. As an element be conscious, some information superhighway websites will say stuff like this... "returned, that's had to bear in mind that the church did no longer verify the canon. No early church council desperate on the canon. It grow to be God, and God on my own, who desperate which books belonged interior the Bible." that's finished BS, religious human beings attempting to maintain that god did it! God did no longer say particular that is going in, or no that would not go in...guy DID! right that's greater suggestions...i'm no longer incorrect right here.. the 1st “canon” grow to be the Muratorian Canon, which grow to be compiled in (A.D. one hundred seventy). The Muratorian Canon coated all the recent testomony books different than Hebrews, James, and 3 John. In A.D. 363, the Council of Laodicea mentioned that purely the old testomony (alongside with the Apocrypha) and the 27 books of the recent testomony have been to be study interior the church homes. The Council of Hippo (A.D. 393) and the Council of Carthage (A.D. 397) additionally affirmed the comparable 27 books as authoritative. The councils accompanied some thing such as right here suggestions to verify whether a clean testomony e book grow to be extremely inspired by skill of the Holy Spirit: a million) grow to be the author an apostle or have an intensive connection with an apostle? 2) Is the e book being standard by skill of the physique of Christ at great? 3) Did the e book comprise consistency of doctrine and orthodox coaching? 4) Did the e book undergo information of severe ethical and non secular values that would mirror a artwork of the Holy Spirit?

Hell if most people knew a thing about King James, I don't think that they would even mention that they have his version of the bible. The Bible will continue to be the most misunderstood and manipulative piece of work ever published. The U.S. was founded and based in religion, check any US Quarter you pick up. What did you expect?

What the kind of religious leaders you are talking about have done is tie the Republican party to their church. This is a good thing from their perspective because it puts them in a greater position of power with much more pull in matters of state than if they weren't tied to a political party. This also puts their congregation into a ready made political position without the hassle of choosing a party because they can see that the things political candidates say are also being taught in their church. If these preachers did not use the Bible to tie into current events then the political assertions they make might seem like an abuse of power. But, since current events DO tie into the Bible and WHERE prophesied of then there is only one way to interpret them and ONE way to vote.

They think it applies to the U.S. because they are arrogant Americans who believe the United States is a God-sanctioned nation.
As another responder said, not all Americans believe that tripe. Only the intolerant Evangelists do. Other types of American Christians, as well as Athiests and Agnostics, are more level-headed and reasonable than that. The Evangelists make more news because they are very loud in their attempts to force everyone to believe what they do. In their twisted Theocracy, anyone who does not follow their creed is doomed to an eternity of suffering in Hell. It is a violent threat, delivered crudely and without mercy.

That is a pretty big assumption on your part. Firstly, what exactly is wrong with using the Bible to show the relevance between events that were written about then, and events that are happening today? If the Bible can't be applied to current events and to life today, then what good is the Bible? It would only be a series of old stories, wouldn't it?
Secondly, I live in the US, as do the "religeous leaders" you seem intent on denigrating. Where would you like them to talk to americans about their religeon?

I am a Christian Pastor and as such have a lot of friends that are Pastor's.
If I understand your question you are stating that we think the KJV applies to the USA, at least mostly.
I assure you we feel the KJV of the Bible is for everyone from every country hamlet and city in this world. It's message is timeless and applies to all generations.
