Why do some people never never admit their lies and mistakes?

And by never, i really mean NEVER. NOT ONCE. Is it because of saving face or smth?

i have this friend who never wants to admit her lies even though i have shown her evidence already!! She has no friends back in elementary school (as far as i know) and do you think she is lying to me in order to gain attention and my friendship? It's so annoying.

Embarrassment { ego } or maybe they believe their lie , or think they made no mistake......

There a myriad of reasons why. Alot of times it starts with some sort of abuse at home when they're young. If they did something wrong, they might have been severely punished. Young kids always do something wrong (everyone's human), and let's say they did something else wrong, or make a mistake. They will lie or not admit the mistake so as not to get hurt. Then it escalates into adolescence and onto adulthood. That's one.
Another would be not being accepted in (reindeer) games at school. Now one looks to lie to awe their peers to be accepted, and when called on it, they're afraid to admit it because to do so might mean that those peers will reject them forever, not knowing that time heals little things like that.
Admitting a mistake might mean that people will think they're dumb or stupid. They don't realize that all they need to do is ask what they did wrong and how to do it right.
Most people who lie or can't admit mistakes learn this early on, and no one called them on it or tried to gently say 'Hey, here's an easy way to do this". You could say, "My grandpa taught me how to do it this way".
I wish I had more room. There are just so many areas of why people do things like this. Just be kind.

My father never did, and now it's too late for him to start. He's 86 years old and in a long-term geriatric care facility. He has Alzheimer's disease and doesn't even know who he is anymore, which is just as well, considering who he was and is. In fact, I consider his current condition a great improvement because his brain has been "scrubbed" of all his evil thoughts and deeds.

They lack real identity, there is a conflicting situation between who they are and who they want to be, all this fueled by feelings of insecurity and frustration, many times as a result of abuse, oppression or negligence. Many times this attitude is a cry for help.

Because by admit to what they have done wrong is number one acceptance and admitting that they..in fact..may not be who they seem to be..tell me about it..mind you i am not perfect..this really bothers me...because sometimes all you want is the truth even if it hurts

They have a inner conscience of disbeliving everything else except wat they stubbornly believes its right. i would say that it cannot be true that no one has never admitted their mistakes. In one way or another they would show that they have indeed been proved worng and would kinda walk away fron the situation.

In my opinion, some people can never admit to anything they consider as less. they must always shine regardless, they are shameless,ruthless, and gutless they're perfect in every manner, but don't you believe it !!!!!!!!!!

I think it is pride. Or better still they are trying to pretend they are better than everyone else.

However unbeknownst to them we are all shaking our heads and laughing at them behind their backs.

Cause there *** wholes and and they act like it's court,if you can't prove it...........they didn't do it ...Are you hanging out with my X ?He got caught on video and said "you can't prove it's me,you can't see my face they were careful not to film my face."DUH!!
