I am 25 weeks pregnant and I think I have a yeast infection. It is a little red and a little swollen down there. It looks like I have little paper cuts, that hurt when I pee or when I wash. I know I don't have any diseases, because well obviously my Dr. did all those tests and he would have notified me. I had 2 YI's When I was pregnant with my first, but this one is a little different. It doesn't itch at all, but I am still concerned about the little 'cuts' they seem to be.
Does this sound like a normal YI? I have notified my Dr. and they
told my to get monistat 7. I am going to get some after I am done with this. I just wanted to know if this sounded typical or is it something I should go into the Dr. for? PLZ Help.TY

I called my Dr. and they said it sounded like a Typical YI. So I am heading to the store to get the Monistat. I had all the disease tests done and they are all negative. I was just a little concerned with the 'cuts' they look like very small paper cuts. Only like 2-3 but just curious. I am going to do what the Dr. ordered. TY

My yeast infection was just like that. I'm 22 weeks and just getting over the worst one I've ever had. I didn't have any when I was pregnant before and when I do get one I take the Diflucan pill. Anyway, this yeast infection caused me to get all red and sore and I had the "little cuts" too. Mine itched really bad though. I would even bleed from wiping! I did the Monistat 7 and it got rid of it finally. I hope yours doesn't get worse, cuz it's miserable. Oh, and I was recently tested for ALL STD's too, and didn't have any.

Little cuts don't sound typical for a yeast infection as far as i know. See the doctor, maybe it's some other kind of infection, but either way, why take the chance. Get them to do swabs for yeast, bactera, and stds too just in case, and if the doc says it looks like yeast infection, start on the monistat right away. Hopefully it gets rid of the symptoms, and you'll find out in a week or so if it really was yeast or something else. The main thing to consider is that you have questions as to whether this is yeast or not, so you're best off going with your gut and seeing your doctor just in case.

sounds like a urinary tracht infection. classic symptoms! drink lots of water and have a glass of cranberry juice every day, my urologist told me i could never take tub baths again ,so i am committed to only have showers. guess what? i havent had any more infections. a yeast infection is very uncomfortable as you have severe vaginal itching and a white discharge. you dont usually get this unless you are sexually active. if your symptons dont clear up you need to re-visit the doctor. sometimes they put you on an anti-biotic that is called broad spectrum until they get the results back from the lab, then they will know exactly which medication will work. hope this helps you till you see your doctor.

Hormonal imbalances due to pregnency can cause yeast infection. The vagina has good bacteria and bad bacteria. Both of which need to be in constant balance of each other. If one of the bacteria gets a little off balance, it can cause the other to become more ravaging. Not a big deal, and sometimes having sex can effect the "off balance" even more. Go get the Monostat, as long as your Dr. says its ok.

It is red from just being pregnant because you get more blood flow down there. Yeast infections usaully burn and itch.

Yeast are a class of organisms - and though they are all similar, different strains can yeild slightly different results. Try the monistat, and in a few days give him a call if there isnt an improvement.

I have had 2 YI's with my pregnancy...but only external itching. Nothing that looked like papercuts. You want to be careful about using the over the counter remedies for YI's because if you don't not have one right now...the medicine found in the treatments..such as monistant could become less effective in your body when you do have a YI in the future.

I definitely think that you should consult your doctor since you are pregnant. You don't just want to go with maybe's or what if it's this or that....You doctor will be able to tell you exatly what it is and how you can safely treat it without affecting the baby.
