The Internet can be pretty dangerous for most adults too.
You forgot about fraudulent scam websites/stores that cheat
people out of millions everyday, and phony IM /smiley
applications that fill up your computer with Spam and viruses.
The Internet is pretty wonderful but it has as much garbage as it

If i could give you any good advice of any good use it would be to keep the internet away from kids at least until they are 16 or so.......i promise it will be worth it......ive heard of a few incidents that children have got in trouble on the internet and hooked up with people..... and it was just a mess... I dont let my kids even look up a picture of a cute animal or anything unless im right there with them.

having connected to the internet opens a lot of field in learning... however, there are other adult-oriented sites that they sholud not see... block this sites in the security setttings if your using interenet explorer as your browser and for firefox get a addons that block these porn sites...
guide and teach them to use the internet properly cause there are lot of things they can learn from these...
