this according to an Army Times poll... Army Times, the newspaper put out by the Army?

"Only 35 percent of the military members polled this year said they approve of the way President Bush is handling the war, while 42 percent said they disapproved. The president’s approval rating among the military is only slight ly higher than for the population as a whole. In 2004, when his popularity peaked, 63 percent of the military approved of Bush’s handling of the war. While ap proval of the president’s war lead ership has slumped, his overall approval remains high among the military.

Just as telling, in this year’s poll only 41 percent of the military said the U.S. should have gone to war in Iraq in the first place, down from 65 percent in 2003."

wow.... since the own their asses.... wtf is that!??! lame!

i myself just recently got out fo the military and was proud to serve my country but let me tell you being 22 and being deployed 2 times already has got me down for the count. you can put me in that percentage that wants our troops home. my husband is 24 and is on his 4th deployment since his enlistment 5 years ago! i have barely been out a month. and i can tell you im the happiest i have ever been. the army was a wonderful part of my life but being in iraq and seeing what i saw. im tellin you its the stuff that brings bout nightmares for years to come. i have ptsd and cant shake it. which probably is part of the reason why i think this war should stop. either way my hubby needs to come home and so does everyone else. its horrible to worry, if i go out this gate will this be my last, will i make it home at the end of this deployment to see my family. i have seen enough people pass because of this war. bring our freinds and family home!!!

It was a bad decision, but maybe it looked good at the time. He forgot to factor in the human element. Sure Saddam was bad, but these people, under his rule, have become children, unable to make a decision for themselves, let alone take a stand for what they believe in!
This has become another Vietnam, except that we at least had the support of the South Vietnamese!
Nobody loves us now! Their kids have good schools, where they don't sing allegience to Saddam like he was GOD!(Saddam, who killed their Fathers, Brothers and Uncles!!!!!!!!!)...and they can wash their hands!!Their kids have a FUTURE!! The parents can actually LIVE with their kids!
I believe it was a good idea at the time, but SOMEBODY has to know when it's time to, as they say in TEXAS, CUT'N'RUN!!!!!

Why not, only 32% of the public support the war, so 41% military, is just above national opinion.

Obviously 41 percent of those polled thought so, but overall? Could be more, could be less.

Really doesn't matter, since the US Gov't owns their @sses, and all this crap isn't up to the individuals serving in our Armed Forces.
