The yankee flag is the Stars and Stripes the same one (with a few more stars) you see at school. The Confederacy by the way had numerous flags one for example was called Hardees and was a circle on a blue back ground. Also that flag you call the Confederate (a big x) is not the Confederate flag it is called the Battle flag if you want to see the Confederate flag go to here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America#First_National_Flag.2C_.22The_Stars_and_Bars.22

and it is called the "Star and Bars". Just think how everyone will think you are the smartest guy in school when you tell them about this!

God Bless You and Our Southern People.

Well I wouldn't think the north had its own flag because it was still the United States of America. The confederate flag had to be made because the states seceded and created the Confederate States of America. The north was still the same country, minus a few states, so they had no reason to change it or create a new one. But the south had a reason for creating a new one. And it's still used to represent the south sometimes.

It would be the same stars and bars, with number of states reflected in the number of stars, none removed for the seceeded states.
