Andrea B. is like 10X slower and less agile than Dirk
Dirk Nowitzki can shoot like 10X better
Dirk N. has better ball handling skills
Dirk has better low post skills
Dirk gets more boards
Dirk has better defense
Andrea B. is a stiff. Definately not worth being choosen #1
In all categories, Dirk Nowitzki is better. I don't know who first compared Andrea Bargnani to Dirk, but whoever it was, they don't know much about basketball. Other than their height, and maybe weight, Dirk and Andrea have nothing in common.

A) Nowitzki's German, Andrei is Italian
B) Nowitzki has many more years of NBA experience than Andrei (but it has been popularly noted that Bargnani is better in his first year than Nowitzki was)
C) Bargnani looks much more content to take the three point shot.
D) Bargnani is a better shot blocker
E) Nowitzki has the more consistant mid range, contested jumper
F) Bargnani is still having trouble on defense w hen it comes to fouling (although he is getting better lately)
As a big Dallas and Raptors fan (from Toronto), these are just some of the things I've noticed.

Everything. Bargnani is raw (relative to the NBA game), while Nowitzki is experienced and has reached the superstar level. But Bargnani is better now than Nowitzki when he was Bargnani's age (Nowitzki even said that himself). They're both tall, big men who can shoot, but Nowitzki is more adept at the NBA game and speed.

Bargnani is going to be averaging 20ppg if he maintains to be consistent. at the instant he's been averaging 21ppg over the final 5 with over 50% FG and over 60% from the three ball. Dirk is better at least for now,andrea can be better,in the first place why should someone comparing them,he's just a rookie and dirk is a 7 year pro i think.

Dirk is better at ball handling, and these other skills but I like Bargnani's 3 pointers better.
