Because of that relationship she doesn't take the same risks anymore. She doesn't want to be burned anymore!

My personal interpretation is much different fom those of the rest of the answers. I think she is referring to her mother and that her mother never let her stray too far from the sidewalk, meaning she always had to be in sight, overprotected. Her mother pointed out her faults as soon as she noticed them and put her back on the "right" path. She is saying "you never thought of anyone else, you just saw your pain", so that's indicative of a marital problem her parents had. People in situations where there is extramarital problems tend to focus ony on that and not the problems of their children or anyone around them. If you notice at the end of the video, she is happy, in the arms of the man she loves. She learned not to follow the same path.

She has a fear of roads and does not want to leave the comfort of a nice sidewalk. Have you ever see nKelly Clarkson walking down the road? I didn't think so. She is afraid to.
The second is actually a reference to Little Miss Muffet. She was sitting there eating her curds and "Way" when along came that darned spider. She ended up losing her way and that nagging spider won't let her forget about it.

Someone made it so she doesn't take risks and doesn't try new things, just stays going the same route...and when things go wrong for her, the person makes sure to let her know...

i think what she is trying to say with the first one is that she is not one to take risks...because she is afraid of the consequences...but with the second lyric...when she loses her way (takes a risk) he automatically points it out ...and kind of puts her down for it....
