Don't! You will never be able to satisfy anyone be that boss or friend who are egotistic.
Flattery is dead and praising him in public may just make U look like a brown-noser..
Best advise. Do your job, be respectful and if one thing you can learn from someone with an ego is NOT to make the same mistakes they do. Learn not to become egotistic,,it is so not nice!

Egoistic is common complex problem among our senior.Only person with hard core achievment in his person or professional life develops some kind of authority where he/she feel that he/she is all in all.I suggest to you to study your boss and how he react to good or bad work.What part of work he likes or dislikes.Make thing,the way,he likes and continue concelling and never say no to him or to say no,take different route.I hope thing will be easy for you.

get a new boss, you'll end up frustrated, they'll take credit for your ideas, etc. you can always tell at the interview what they're going to be like to work for.
