I'm quite old fashioned, I'd definitely prefer to have a child after marriage.

I would wait until marriage to have children because it's best for the child to have a mother & father figure and if you are committed enough to marry eachother, then he is more likely to be a committed father. Waiting also ensures that you have made the best decision for the father of your child. As well, stay young as long as possible, children take a LOT of your time and your life will change drastically. If you do get pregnant before marriage, DON'T get married just because you are going to have a baby with some guy- this could lead to an unhappy marriage, lots of fighting- hence not a good relationship to the child.

Well - I always thought "after" I was married... But then I got pregnant and became a single mother. My child has a father figure in her life (my fiance) but I can say that while it was just me and her - it was very simple. But with an added person, it's a little more stressful. Some things are easier and some things are harder.
