Yes diffidently you want to have both your obgyn helps with knowing whats going on with your cycles and all that where a general practitioner helps to deal with the other general health problems.(flu,cold etc etc)

Just a general care practioner should be fine as long as he/she will do your annual obgyn exams & pap test. The exception is when you are pregnant and then you really should have just an obgyn who will act as your primary general physician until after you deliver. Too many cooks spoil the sauce kind of - mainly so you don't have one doc doing one thing and another doing something else with no communication.

Well it depends. Some general care physicians can do gynocological exams in their office as well as regular exams. However, if you are pregnant, they you have to see an obgyn for the obstitrician part, which is crutical in the developmental care of the fetus.

Yes, if that is what she is comfortable with.

Me: I have both. My general health care practitioner is a specialist in internal medicine. I would NEVER have him do my gyn care. I'm more comfortable with a woman Gyn.
