In most states after 21 days of him not responding by way of papers having not been served (the court has their copy already) You have to request a hearing---

What state are you in? In Texas there is such a thing as a waiver divorce where the 2 parties are able to sign a waiver of service and the divorce proceeds without either being served but That is here and maybe you need to look thru your papers for a waiver of service. Also has the paperwork been filed? Here I want to say that it takes like 45 days before the divorce is effective. Good luck and you have my condolences on the end of your marriage.

I JUST WENT THROUGH A DIVORCE AND IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHO FILED IF YOU DID THEN YOU MUST HAVE HIM SERVED AND IF HE DOES NOT FILE A RESPONSE THEN HE IS IN DEFAULT AND YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT THE SAME IS TRUE IF IT IS REVERSED , IF HE FILED AND REFUSES TO SERVE YOU THEN THE DIVORCE CAN NOT TAKE PLACE AND YOU MUST FILE THAT IS THE BEST I CAN TELL YOU WITH THE INFO YOU GAVE. I HOPE YOUR PARALEGAL WILL DO A BETTER JOB ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS!

What is your definition of serve? If he's not serving you as in.......... wait on you hand and foot......... I hope you're the one making the money.
If you are talking about "got you served" as in "satisfaction" ............. well, that's not a reason for divorce.....its just an excuse to cheat.
Either way is a lose, lose situation for you.

HUH? You mean he filed for divorce? If you signed papers, why does have to have you served? Why don't you just have him served?

Maybe he's having second thoughts . I would call a judge & see waht they say some states are diffent. Nebraska I think they have to be sent out but that doesn't guarauntee you'll get them & he could have sent them to another address to try not to get you to go to court if he feels your going to contest it. call the judge that is going to proside on your case & fnd out what is going on. Call his lawyer too. Mkae sure you ask the courthouse for info
