you will not find that a problem in Philippines. Just go there and anyone that has time will be happy to guide you anywhere you want. Some may charge, some will not, and if you are super nice some may even pay the cost of taking you around.

You do not need a guide. Just buy yourself a Lonely Planet. You can not go wrong with this book it will point you to all the important sites and show you all the good lodging. Just reading the book it will help you. You won't regret not having a guide. You will meet lots of friendly people who will point you the right way.

Feel free to message me about places I think are worth traveling there. As Bohol, Cebu, Palawan and Sagada are all great spots.

Trust me after 2 days in manila every where else will be good!

if you have a friend that have a relative back home, that will be your best bet. you know for sure that you will enjoy cause your friend will insist to take you to the place that gives your vacation a highlight.

otherwise, some vacation packages have a tour guide available at all times. there are variety of places to see and things to do like snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, spa, night life and historic sites. but check out the months to ensure the weather for good outing and atmosphere. do not go there on rainy season, its not advisable.
