Some thoughts on knowledge.
Acquiring knowledge is no guarantee of practical, useful application. These days people seek knowledge, not wisdom.
Simplistic popularization of ideas and what passes for knowledge in our modern society has thrust our world into a mental straitjacket.

Knowledge without wisdom accomplishes evil.
Wisdom involves good judgement, discernment, understanding and assessing for implications.
Discernment: the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure.
Discriminating: to distinguish and select what is true or appropriate.

It’s one thing to have an opinion, and something completely different to actually know what one is talking about.

And so the wise person will seek to acquire the best possible knowledge about events, but always without becoming dependent upon this knowledge. To recognize the significant in the factual is wisdom.
