Everytime the death tow is brought up...A comment is always made that they volunteered for it...To me yes thats a known risk...but should it not be a last resort and for wars of choice?

I always do find it a little odd... when you talk about deaths and some conservatives say "they knew what they were getting into"...
I would bet most of them that died, didn't think they would die in a war over WMD that weren't even there... so I doubt they did know what they were getting into...
and just because they joined the Amry... is it ok that they are dead or something?
all they knew is that they were joining the army and they had a hope the leaders of the nation would be very prudent when they waged war...

Probably, yeah. I mean noone would admit that. But hell, if I were a male of drafting age I'd be comforted to know it's a volunteer army. I wouldn't want to be deported, even if I supported the war. Call me a coward, I know I am. But so are a lot of people, who support the war. It's easy to support a war you know you don't have to fight. Sure the conservatives here can put up a flag and call themselves patriots, but the REAL patriots are the ones out there. Even though I disagree, I think it's respectable that they're fighting for something they believe in.
Even if the war is entirely pointless.

Well it is, actually, a volunteer army. Are we supposed to say its not when it is?
Patriotsquestion911? I've been there before. I've read those articles. I've seen that loosechange nonsense. I DONT BELEIVE IN IT! Its like believing in Santa Clause, a few other kids will agree with you, but for the most part, everyone is embarassed for conspiracy theorists. One would have to be living in the woods, trying to get off the grid, to believe stuff like that...

It is an all volunteer army a##hole.People who join know up front that if there is a war they will be obligated to go,regardless if it is a popular war or not.I served during the Viet Nam war and knew I could be shipped out any day.I was in the first cycle of the all volunteer army and knew this could happen going in.Why do liberal cowards come up with stupid questions like this?BTW it should comfort you also, knowing that you can't be drafted and can hide behind your cowardly point of view.

It are those we are fighting. God bless our troops.

It is what it is. Unless there's been a military draft that I haven't been made aware of.

It seems to. I think they believe the casualty reports are less horrendous that way. At least 20 of our troops died in Iraq today. That ought to really comfort them.
