Your're not asking for much are you? You do realize that the vacancy rate in Edmonton is hovering around the 1% mark. It's difficult enough to find just an apartment without trying to add in the "furnished" part. You could start by checking the newspapers:

www.edmontonjournal.com
www.edmontonsun.com
www.edmontonexaminer.com

From there you go to sites which deal in Edmonton rentals - here are a few of them:

http://www.sublet.com/area_rentals/Canada/EdmontonArea_Rentals.asp

http://www.edmonton.rentfaster.ca/renters.php

www.kijiji.ca and then find the one for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free

www.craigslist.org then find the listing for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free.

http://www.rentalsalberta.com/search_results.php

http://www.247apartments.com/rentals/Alberta/Edmonton.asp

www.usededmonton.com here you can also put in a Free Want Ad to look for one.

Hopeful by the time you finish this entire list you will have found something that suits you. Oh, and before you ask about Safe areas you should probably read the other posting about where in Edmonton are the Safe areas
Good Luck.

The only furnished apartments I know of in Edmonton are 'the Galen' near the University. It's ridiculously expensive, though. Since the vacancy rate in Edmonton is practically nil, landlords can charge basically anything they want and people will still pay it.

Other than that, try the classifieds for a basement or sublet.

There are no Indian Communities as such in Australia but if you go online and look for Sikh temples locations the surrounding suburbs to that may have higher than average Indians living there. Also furnished apartments are not a cheap option - they are at the higher end of the scale ($600-1000K a week) and are in the city not the suburbs. $300-350 a week is the low end of the unfurnished scale - you will be looking at least 20km from Sydney for this amount. There are a number of indian "real estate" magnates that have alot of properties but they charge $200-300 a person per week and put 8-12 people into a 2-3 bedroom apartment - do not fall for those scams.

I hate to say this, but the chances of you finding an affordable , furnished apartment are very, very slight !! Well, unless you can afford paying over a thousand dollars a month.
My suggestion to you is to find a nice , quiet apartment and maybe look in the BarginFinder for furniture. There are alot of second hand stores in Edmonton that have nice furniture. Or, you would probably still find it easier to rent an unfurnished apartment and go to Rent Center or Easy Home and "rent" some furniture sets !!
Good luck

Ask about bedbugs as Edmonton apartments have had bedbug infestations. Not fun.
