what if earth were attacked?

i was kindve wonder if an alien race came to earth and, to be realistic i dont see why theyd be peaceful if they could get here they could stomp us in technology, but anyway i was wondering how effective would our weapons be or what would you think the scenario would be like between us and them

Why would a race of sentient beings with interstellar travelling technology waste time on us one way or the other?

There's absolutely nothing of interest here for any race as advanced as that.

Besides, we're totally insignificant. We already know that the universe is teeming with extrasolar planets and debris. If they need some kind of raw resources, there are plenty of places to look besides us.

We just aren't worth the time and effort for what you propose.

Oh, I saw one of those "slavery" replies. You might ask yourself why such a sentient race would require "slaves". Remember that slaves were useful in primitive human societies where raw manpower was needed to build all that crap and keep things running so the nobles could sit on their fat derrieres. Advanced technology makes slaves unnecessary.

First of all we would try to create some sort of peace. But in the event that attempt failed and they attacked us; then we would equally fight back.

And although our weapons are very destructive; I am pretty sure that any race that is space faring, is pretty technologically advanced and will have a good arsenal of weapons that will outpower our weapons.

Even if our nuclear weapons had some effect on them, we would cause damage to our own planet at the same time.

But the question arises... Do aliens exist? Or are we the aliens?

That's like so queer. What would the Alien race do to the Earth? Like that, you know, would you go off to the Sahara and kill the cactii? No, why would you? If there are advanced aliens that can travel across space time, I don't think they would be hostile, even if, Earth's probably not rich enough, in terms of resource, or science. Even life. And Art. And whatever else that you can think of that might be interesting.

They would probably be able to evade any of our weapons sense they would obviously be prepared. We wouldn't have any idea how to evade their weapons. We should have them out numbered though that wouldn't count for much. The war would be taking place on our planet and messing it up while their planet remained untouched. So it looks like we would be at a disadvantage.

They have been here four tens of thousands of years. They left us a few teasers. The great pyramid, Stonehenge etc. And have left our view so the Earth could be our nursery. The don't reveal themselves because their technology is very dangerous. To reveal themselves is to reveal their technology. Imagine one fanatic using a space craft to tow an asteroid towards the Earth. I am glad they don't reveal their technology.

Hi. Much closer to home is the "attack" Earth is under now by destroyers of the environment. If we can't beat them (or at least change them) how would we fare under attack by an advanced technology?

nuclear weapons are capable of destroying the surface of our planet, tey would probably work against aliens, they may even be easily killed with 22 cal. rifles, humans have spent centuries mastering killing each other, The invaders wouldn't be able to put up with the violent side of human nature

BUT, in the event it was a social call, it would probably be something like men in black, where they want to co-exist peacefully. as far as weapons, well, unless we can actually make the types of weapons they used in the star wars episodes, we'd be S.O.L.
